South Carolina Track & Field achieved six event wins and five Top 10 program marks during the final day of the East Coast Relays, according to a May 2 statement from the university. The meet took place at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

The results highlight strong performances by both the women’s and men’s teams as they prepare for postseason competition. For the women, four out of six overall victories were secured along with three advancements in school history records. Joslyn Hamilton won the women’s 100-meter hurdles with a personal best of 12.91 seconds, moving her to second all-time for South Carolina and fourth in the East Region. Akala Garrett finished third with a season-best time of 13.06 seconds, now eighth fastest in school history and within the Top 20 regionally. Kyndall Harrington-Spain set a new personal record as well.

JaMeesia Ford led a strong showing in the women’s 100 meters by winning with a season-best mark of 11.09 seconds—seventh best in regional standings—with five Gamecocks placing among the top ten finishers.

Relay squads also performed strongly; Alexis Brown, Cynteria James, Zaya Akins and Ford captured victory in the women’s 4×100 meter relay with a time that ranks third fastest ever for South Carolina (42.82). The team of Garrett, James, Ford and Harrington-Spain closed out competition by winning the women’s 4×400 meter relay.

On the men’s side, Josiah Wrice claimed his third win this season in the men’s 400 meters while Devan Crumpton and Jasauna Dennis followed closely behind—Dennis recording his own collegiate personal best as eighth fastest ever at South Carolina (45.70). The quartet of Wrice, Dennis, Salvodon and Crumpton also won gold in their relay event.

Other notable performances included Ellis Neighbors setting a new javelin personal record to maintain his fourth-place ranking historically at South Carolina and David Warmington Jr.’s runner-up finish in hurdles moving him into regional Top 20 standings.

The regular season will conclude tomorrow as South Carolina’s distance runners compete at Duke Twilight.
