Furman enters the contest with a record of 7-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play after closing out their home schedule with a 17-12 loss to High Point last Saturday. In that game, Furman outshot High Point and had more ground balls but ultimately fell short. Allie Kandel led Furman’s offense off the bench with three goals and an assist, while Shae Insinga contributed two goals and an assist. Lily Toole also scored three times for the Paladins.

On defense, Cate Noone achieved a career-high six draw controls. Grace Gibson tied her season best with three ground balls, and Zoe Milmoe matched her career high by causing four turnovers. The Paladins used all three goalkeepers during the match, with Madigan Brewer recording three saves.

Winthrop comes into Saturday’s game at 6-8 overall and 1-5 in conference action after suffering a heavy defeat against Mercer last weekend. The Eagles are led by second-year head coach Hannah Potter.

Looking ahead, Furman will conclude its regular season next Saturday when it travels to face Gardner-Webb.
