The Furman Paladins women’s softball team announced on Apr. 28 that its non-conference game against Georgia Tech has been canceled because of the threat of inclement weather in Atlanta, including thunderstorms expected around the scheduled start time.

The cancellation follows an earlier postponement of the same matchup, which was originally set for April 22 but was delayed due to poor air quality in the Metro Atlanta area caused by wildfires in North Georgia.

With this game now canceled, Furman will finish its regular season with a three-game Southern Conference series against Chattanooga at Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The series includes a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., and concludes with Sunday’s regular season finale at 2 p.m. All games are set to be streamed live on ESPN+.

Chattanooga is also scheduled to host the 2026 Southern Conference Softball Championship from May 6 through May 9.
