Furman’s Harris Barth was named to the All-Southern Conference men’s golf team, according to a May 5 announcement from the league office.

Barth, a senior from Atlanta, Georgia, received his third consecutive All-SoCon recognition after leading Furman and ranking fourth in the conference with a 71.30 stroke average over 33 rounds. He won the individual championship at the Bearcat Invitational in October by shooting nine under par and achieved three top-six finishes across eleven events this season. Last week, Barth shot a final-round 67 to finish fourth at the SoCon Championship and is set to graduate on Saturday with a 3.94 GPA in economics.

“Being named a three-time all-conference selection is quite an accomplishment,” said Paladin head coach Matt Davidson. “We are really proud of Harris not only for the golfer he is, but also for the student and the teammate he is. He had an amazing four years at Furman, and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do in the upcoming postseason and beyond!”

The Southern Conference also announced its annual awards: Tyler Jones of Western Carolina was named Player of the Year; Evan Rogers of Chattanooga earned Freshman of the Year; Blaine Woodruff of Chattanooga was selected as Coach of the Year. The full list of All-Conference honorees includes players from Chattanooga, UNC Greensboro, Samford, ETSU (East Tennessee State University), Mercer, and Furman.

Barth’s continued recognition highlights both his athletic performance on course and academic achievement off it as he completes his collegiate career.
