Furman and Wofford each rallied from three-run deficits to win a game as the teams split a Southern Conference softball doubleheader, 6-4 and 6-5, on Friday night at Pepsi Stadium in Greenville, S.C.

The outcome sets up a deciding third game of the series, scheduled for an 11:05 a.m. start on Saturday. The final game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Before the series finale, Furman will honor Sylvia Burroughs and Ansley Chiang as they play their last home game at Pepsi Stadium. Admission to the event is free.

In the first game, Furman overcame a 4-1 deficit with rallies in the fifth and sixth innings. Key moments included Kristyn Embler driving in runs with a single and Rachel Hawkins bringing home another run with a sacrifice fly. Kate Stoltzfus hit a home run to give Furman its winning margin. Embler pitched all seven innings for Furman, allowing just one earned run while also contributing three hits at the plate.

Wofford responded in game two by coming back from behind after Furman’s five-run third inning that featured home runs by Stoltzfus and Katie Peeler along with Hawkins’s two-run double. The Terriers tied it up late with Addie Lucier’s solo homer before taking the lead for good in extra innings when Brianna Stanley drove in Kate Platte. Natalya Salo pitched all eight innings for Wofford to secure the win.

Both teams saw strong performances from several players throughout both games. For Furman, Peeler went 2-for-3 in game two while Stoltzfus homered twice during the evening. For Wofford, Stanley drove in three runs across both games while Platte and Rivers Sampson each collected multiple hits.
