Fairfield County Council honored the life and service of Rev. Bridget B. Goodwin during its April 13 meeting, recognizing her impact on the community through faith, kindness, and dedication.
The recognition highlights the importance of individuals who contribute to community spirit and well-being in Fairfield County. Rev. Goodwin’s influence was described as enduring, with her memory cherished by many residents.
Rev. Goodwin was born on April 10, 1965, in Newberry, South Carolina, to Mrs. Mamie Glasglow Boyd and the late Rev. Brady Boyd. She graduated from Newberry High School and Mansfield Business College before working for Kraft Heinz for 37 years. In August 2023, she joined Fairfield County as Administrative Assistant for e911.
Her ministry began in September 2010 when she answered her call to serve Christ; she preached her first sermon and received her license in February 2011 before becoming overseer of Stonewall Holiness Church that same year in Chapin, South Carolina. Ordained in October 2012 and installed as Pastor soon after, she led with compassion and grace.
Known affectionately as “Pastor B,” she was recognized for uplifting others through prayer and encouragement while enjoying family time—especially with her grandson Darrius—and hobbies such as watching Hallmark movies or cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fairfield County focuses on providing exceptional quality of life for residents through recreation programs offering sports activities across ages according to its official website. Council members said Rev. Goodwin will always be missed but never forgotten due to the depth of her positive influence throughout Fairfield County.
