The Fairfield County Animal Shelter announced on May 2 that Ty Cohen, a Kennel Technician, has been recognized in its Employee Spotlight. Cohen is responsible for the daily care and well-being of animals at the shelter, performing tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and providing attention to each animal.
Cohen’s dedication to animal welfare is highlighted by her compassion and commitment to ensuring animals feel safe while waiting for adoption. She said her favorite part of the job is working with behavioral dogs and participating in adoption events. “Her compassion, strong work ethic and commitment to animal welfare does not go unnoticed. Whether she’s helping a shy dog come out of its shell or making sure each kennel is clean and welcoming, Ty brings heart to everything she does,” the announcement said.
Cohen described herself as outgoing, funny, and empathetic. Her hometown is Blythewood, South Carolina. She has worked at the shelter for less than one year but has already made an impact on both animals and staff.
