Eurocharm Group, a metalworking supplier headquartered in Taiwan, has announced its decision to establish its first North American manufacturing facility in Kershaw County, South Carolina. The investment of $12 million is expected to create 46 new jobs.

The company specializes in manufacturing automotive components, motorcycle parts, and medical equipment and employs over 4,900 people across multiple production facilities in Asia. The new facility will be located at 412 Groves Street in Lugoff and will span 198,000 square feet. It will be used for metal fabrication, light assembly, and warehousing operations set to commence in 2026.

Eurocharm Group Chairman Steven Yu expressed optimism about the opportunities South Carolina offers due to its strategic location and supportive business environment. “We see tremendous opportunity in South Carolina,” Yu stated. He highlighted the state’s advantages such as the Port of Charleston and a robust manufacturing base.

Governor Henry McMaster welcomed Eurocharm Group’s decision to choose South Carolina for their expansion. “Manufacturing companies worldwide continue to take notice of South Carolina’s pro-business climate and world-class workforce,” he said.

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III emphasized the significance of this development for the state’s reputation as a leader in manufacturing and foreign direct investment. “Today’s announcement by Eurocharm Group reinforces our state’s reputation,” Lightsey remarked.

Kershaw County Council Chairman Ben Connell noted the positive impact on local quality of life from Eurocharm Group’s investment and job creation. “We are excited Eurocharm Group chose to locate their first North American manufacturing facility in Kershaw County,” Connell said.

Central SC Alliance Chairman Tushar Chikhliker also welcomed Eurocharm Group’s arrival, citing Central South Carolina’s appeal as a destination for manufacturers due to its skilled workforce and strategic location.
