Sophomore striker Emily Currie of the Presbyterian College lacrosse team was named the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week, according to an April 28 announcement.

Currie earned this recognition after tying for the second-most goals in a single season in program history. She scored four goals during a win over Winthrop and added two more in the final game against High Point. In her second year, she matched Willow Hammond’s record with 42 goals, highlighting her strong performance for Presbyterian College.

Although Presbyterian narrowly missed qualifying for the Big South Tournament due to an RPI difference of six points, Currie’s achievements stand out among a promising group of returning players. Under head coach Eric Clakeley, Currie has totaled 77 career goals and ranked fourth in total goals within the Big South Conference this season. She also contributed nine assists and maintained nearly three goals per match on average.

Currie’s impact extended beyond scoring; she was second on her team with 23 draw controls and recorded several multi-goal games throughout the season. Her standout moments included a comeback win over Manhattan with six goals and a double-overtime winner at Gardner-Webb.

The award is part of an ongoing partnership between Presbyterian College Athletics and Game One, which began supplying Adidas apparel through a multi-year agreement established in November 2022. The program recognizes student-athletes across various sports throughout each academic year.
