Eight South Carolina State University softball players were named to the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball All-Academic team, according to a May 6 announcement from the league.

The MEAC recognized a total of 83 student-athletes from its eight member institutions for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year. The conference honors sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Transfer student-athletes are also eligible if they have been in residence at their institution for at least one year.

South Carolina State had eight honorees on this year’s list. The other participating schools included Coppin State with ten honorees, Delaware State with eleven, Howard with eleven, Maryland Eastern Shore with ten, Morgan State with ten, Norfolk State with nine, and North Carolina Central leading the group with fourteen.

The full list of honorees was published by institution and includes students recognized for balancing athletic commitments alongside their studies. This annual recognition highlights the emphasis placed on academic performance within MEAC’s athletics programs.

As academic standards continue to play an important role in collegiate sports eligibility and recognition, more student-athletes across the conference are being acknowledged for their efforts both on the field and in the classroom.
