EFP, LLC., known for its expertise in high-volume molding and cold chain solutions, has announced an expansion of its operations in Lee County, South Carolina. The company plans to invest $31.5 million in this expansion, which is expected to create 57 new jobs.

Established in 1954, EFP, LLC. provides design, prototyping, and manufacturing services for protective packaging and components across various industries such as pharmaceuticals and food distribution. The expansion involves adding 200,000 square feet to the existing facility at 227 Browntown Road in Bishopville. This will enhance production capacity for expanded polystyrene (EPS) and expanded polypropylene (EPP) solutions catering to protective packaging, automotive, and cold chain markets.

The expanded operations are projected to commence in April 2026. Those interested in employment opportunities can find more information on the company’s careers page.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits for this project. Additionally, a $750,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant has been awarded to Lee County to support water and sewer infrastructure improvements and site preparation.

“EFP, LLC. is looking forward to the significant expansion at our Bishopville facility,” stated John Hoeper, President of EFP, LLC., emphasizing the importance of this growth in meeting demand for their products. He also expressed gratitude for the support from state entities and local organizations.

Governor Henry McMaster remarked on South Carolina’s commitment to supporting existing companies like EFP, LLC., celebrating their contributions to Lee County. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III highlighted the investment as a demonstration of confidence in both Lee County and South Carolina.

Lee County Council Chairman Travis Windham expressed excitement about EFP’s decision to expand again within the community. Gordon Eckley from TheLINK Economic Development Alliance noted that this choice underscores trust in the region’s ability to meet business needs.
