In 2023, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) issued 14 grants totaling $30,038,466 to fund economic development projects in South Carolina.

This represents a 51.5% decrease from 2022, when the state received $61,958,054 in funding.

Still, South Carolina ranked first across the U.S. in total EDA grant funding for 2023.

City of Walterboro received the largest EDA grant for funding an economic development project in the state, totalling $9,996,446.
