The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Clemson Tigers 6-0 in the final game of their softball series on April 26 at Smith Family Stadium. With this result, Clemson’s record moved to 32-19 overall and 13-11 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Duke improved to 37-13 overall and 20-4 in conference games.

The game saw Duke hit two home runs, one coming during their first turn at bat. The Blue Devils added a second home run in the fifth inning to extend their lead to three runs. In the sixth inning, Duke scored three more runs with two singles and a walk.

Clemson managed only three hits during the game, with Taylor Pipkins recording two hits and Jamison Brockenbrough adding one. Despite drawing seven walks and having one batter hit by pitch, Clemson left eight runners on base. Brockenbrough led the team with two walks.

Abby Dunning started for Clemson and struck out five batters over five and two-thirds innings before being briefly relieved by freshman Lexie Hames. Dunning returned later but was charged with the loss, bringing her season record to eight wins and eight losses.

Clemson will have a bye week before learning its seeding for the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 6 in Charlottesville, Virginia. All first-round tournament games will be broadcast on ACC Network.
