South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of Jay’Zion Jahein Ali Mcinnis, a 24-year-old resident of Dillon, S.C., on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest was made by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Attorney General’s Office. The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, also part of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted in the investigation.
The investigation began after receiving a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which led authorities to Mcinnis. According to investigators, Mcinnis distributed files containing child sexual abuse material.
Mcinnis was taken into custody on July 10, 2025. He faces two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405). This felony offense carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment for each count.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. Attorney General Wilson emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
“Child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, is a more accurate reflection of the material involved in these heinous and abusive crimes,” explained officials. “Pornography can imply the child was a consenting participant. Globally, the term child pornography is being replaced by CSAM for this reason.”
