Three County Council members — including two brand new ones — took the oath of office on Jan. 10, immediately prior to the first council meeting of the new year. New council members are Clint Elliott of District 1 and Stella Mercado of District 6. Louis Morant was sworn in for his second term as District 7’s representative and was also re-elected as Council Chairman during the council meeting that followed the ceremony.
