The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is set to commence construction on a new roundabout at the intersection of Gap Creek Road and Gary Armstrong Road in Spartanburg County. The project will start on December 8, 2025, and aims to replace the existing four-way stop with a roundabout.
During the construction period, SCDOT will implement intermittent road closures on Gary Armstrong Road and Hamilton Road. Detour signs will be installed to guide drivers around these closures. A map detailing the affected area is available for reference. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and consider alternative routes when possible.
The construction is projected to conclude by fall 2026. SCDOT has urged drivers to reduce speed and remain vigilant of signage and workers while navigating near the construction zone.
