Coastal Carolina women’s basketball head coach Kevin Pederson announced on May 1 the signing of Anja Djukic, a transfer from Weatherford College, for the 2026-2027 season.

The addition of Djukic addresses a key need at the point guard position for the Chanticleers. “We are excited to welcome Anja and her family to Coastal Carolina!” Pederson said. “The Point Guard position was a high priority for our staff entering this portal recruiting season and we feel like Anja is going to be a great fit. She lead the Junior College level in assists per game at 8.7, and that’s exactly what we were looking for. We feel like we have proven scorers on this team and I think everyone is going to love playing with Anja because she is the type of player that makes everyone around her better.”

Djukic joins Coastal Carolina as a redshirt junior after playing two seasons at Weatherford College from 2024 to 2026. The Paracin, Serbia native becomes the fourth transfer signed by the program ahead of next season.

During her most recent year with Weatherford College, Djukic started all 27 games and led her team with an average of 8.7 assists per game while also contributing 8.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per contest. Her performance earned her Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Honorable Mention recognition following the season.

In the previous year (2024-25), she started all 30 games for Weatherford College, averaging six assists and just over six points per game.

Djukic also brings international experience to Conway after competing in the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship in 2022 as part of Serbia’s national team.
