The Coastal Carolina softball team lost to the Troy Trojans 4-2 in a game played on April 30 at St. John’s Stadium.

The matchup saw both teams remain scoreless through the first two innings. Troy then took control in the third inning, with Presley Ivey, Makaley Boswell, and Mia Tidmore each hitting RBI singles that gave the Trojans a 4-0 lead.

Coastal Carolina responded in the fifth inning when Libby Pippen hit a solo home run over the right center field wall, putting her team on the scoreboard. In the sixth inning, Coastal loaded the bases with two singles and a walk before Metzger hit a sacrifice fly to right field, narrowing Troy’s lead to 4-2.

Despite these efforts, Troy maintained its advantage by retiring Coastal Carolina in order during the seventh inning to secure their victory. Abby Henderson pitched all seven innings for Coastal Carolina, allowing four runs on nine hits and taking her record to 7-14 for the season.
