The Coastal Carolina softball team lost to the Texas State Bobcats, 6–2, on Apr. 26 in San Marcos, Texas.

The game saw Coastal Carolina take an early lead in the first inning. Kaelin Cash hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Libby Pippin added an RBI single, putting the Chanticleers ahead by two runs. However, Texas State responded in their half of the first inning with Harley Vestal’s RBI single that narrowed the margin to 2–1.

In the fourth inning, Sami Hood of Texas State tied the score with an RBI single down the left-field line. The pivotal moment came in the bottom of the sixth when Aiyana Coleman hit a grand slam for Texas State, securing a four-run lead and ultimately sealing victory for her team.

Kate Ryan took her third loss of the season for Coastal Carolina after allowing two runs on one hit over one inning pitched. The defeat leaves Ryan’s record at five wins and three losses this year.
