Clemson University Cooperative Extension recently issued the following announcement.

Want to learn about food preservation?  Come out to the Pee Dee State Farmers Market in Florence, where Clemson Extension Agent Chase McIntosh will be demonstrating the many ways to preserve your harvest and make use of the produce you have in a summer preservation series put on by the SC Department of Agriculture.  This week features Yellow Squash.

Have you had your canner and pressure dial gauge checked this year? Clemson Extension Agent will provide FREE Canner and pressure gauge inspections and testing from 11-2. We will test the accuracy of your pressure dial gauge and provide a physical inspection of the canner. Participants will also receive an inspection report. This service with a $6.00 value will be provided at no cost to you thanks to generous support from the Pee Dee State Farmer’s Market and the Specialty Crop Grant.
