Clemson track and field to compete at Duke Twilight on May 3

Clemson Track & Field will travel to Durham, North Carolina, for the Duke Twilight meet on Sunday, May 3. The event will take place at Morris Williams Stadium and marks a final opportunity for athletes to qualify for postseason competition.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women’s hammer throw, where Kendra Dye and Mary Ella Brooks will represent Clemson. Matthew Auble is set to compete in the men’s hammer throw before participating in the discus later in the day. Additional field events include Kimeka Smith in the women’s shot put and Chase Edwards in the men’s discus.

Jumping events start at 12:30 p.m., featuring Jacob Carruthers, Brandon Pottinger, and Shyhiem Scotland in the men’s high jump. The women’s high jump follows with Daneille Noble, Bianca Martinez, Ava Allen, Emma Fortuna, and Danya Spoor entered. Kirstin Hoffman will participate in the women’s pole vault at 2:30 p.m., while Dillon Kaulback, Matthew Phillips, and Drake Risser are listed for the men.

Track events include Campbell and Oneka Wilson opening Clemson’s participation in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at 2:50 p.m., with Sharvis Simmonds and Khailan Vitalis contesting the men’s 110-meter hurdles shortly after. Other highlights are Briana Campbell, Sadé Gray, and Makhaila Mills running in the women’s 100 meters; Ian Johnson leads a group of four Tigers entered into their men’s counterpart.

Relays are scheduled later in the evening with both men’s and women’s teams competing in respective heats of the 4×400 meter relay. Middle- and long-distance runners such as Madelyn Dinneen (women’s 800m), Garrett Brown (men’s 1500m), Emily Lamontagne (women’s 5000m), Brendan Gomez (men’s 5000m) are also expected to compete throughout Sunday night.
