South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of three men from Cherokee County on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The individuals arrested are Victor Hugo Lara Rosaldo, 35, and Caleb Tyler Patterson, 31, both of Gaffney, S.C., and Timothy David Anderson, 58, of Chesnee, S.C. The arrests were made by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in separate cases. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office assisted with these investigations as part of the state’s ICAC Task Force.
The investigation began after CyberTipline reports were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). According to investigators, Rosaldo and Anderson are accused of distributing files containing child sexual abuse material. Patterson is accused of possessing and distributing such material.
Rosaldo was taken into custody on July 29, 2025. He faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405), each count carrying a potential sentence of up to ten years in prison.
Patterson was also arrested on July 29, 2025. He is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405) and two counts in the third degree (§16-15-410). Each charge is a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.
Anderson was arrested on July 30, 2025. He faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405), which carries a penalty of up to ten years imprisonment.
The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute all three cases.
Attorney General Wilson stated: “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
According to authorities, child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is now used as a term instead of “child pornography” because it more accurately describes the nature of these crimes and avoids implying consent by minors.
