The Charleston Southern women’s tennis team will compete against the No. 5 seeded North Carolina Tar Heels in the opening round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament, according to an April 27 announcement. The match is scheduled for Friday, May 1, with first serve at 4:00 P.M. in Chapel Hill.

This selection follows Charleston Southern’s recent victory in the Big South championship, marking their fifth conference title in six seasons. The program has now earned its sixth bid to the NCAA tournament since 2015.

North Carolina will also host Maryland and South Carolina during the weekend. The winner of the Buccaneers-Tar Heels matchup will advance to face either Maryland or South Carolina in the next round.

Charleston Southern’s continued success reflects a period of strong performance within their conference and on a national level. The repeated appearances at NCAA tournaments demonstrate consistency for the program over recent years.
