The Charleston Police Department announced on May 6 the arrest of a suspect in connection with the April 25 armed robbery at the Dollar General located at 1752 River Road.
According to police, officers responded around 8:45 p.m. after employees reported that a masked individual armed with a rifle entered the store and demanded money before fleeing. The case prompted a multi-agency investigation spanning several jurisdictions.
Detectives charged Marquell Lovon Holmes, age 37 and from Adams Run, with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities said Holmes has prior robbery convictions in the Charleston area.
