The College of Charleston beach volleyball team concluded its 2026 season at the Sun Belt Championship in Foley, Alabama on April 24. The Cougars lost their opening match to the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) by a score of 4-1 on Thursday and were eliminated from the tournament after a 5-0 defeat to Southern Miss in the contenders bracket on Friday.
The team’s only dual win during the championship came from Fiona North and Grace Toscano, who secured a victory on court five against UNCW. The Cougars finished their season with an overall record of eight wins and twenty-one losses.
In their first match, UNCW’s Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp defeated Paige Clark and Harleigh King of Charleston, while Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson also won for UNCW against Elizabeth Curry and Holly Hopkins. Other matches saw Alise Barbour/Alivia Hamel, Addie Marinack/Hannah Parkinson contributing to UNCW’s win. North and Toscano recorded Charleston’s only point with straight set wins over Keenan Engebretson and Traci Shrcok.
Against Southern Miss, all five courts went in favor of USM pairs.
