College of Charleston redshirt junior Carson Bryant was named Coastal Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, according to a May 4 announcement from the association.

Bryant received the honor after limiting University of North Carolina Wilmington to one hit over seven scoreless innings and striking out seven batters. His performance helped Charleston secure a 5-0 victory on Sunday, clinching the series. The right-handed pitcher allowed only a single in the fourth inning and set career highs for both innings pitched and strikeouts. Bryant, whose record now stands at two wins and three losses, faced multiple runners on base in just one inning during his outing.

This recognition marks Charleston’s fifth weekly honor this season and highlights contributions from several players. Bryant joins freshmen Jake Amman (Player of the Week, March 2), Carter Harrington (Rookie of the Week, March 9), sophomore Alex LaCoste (April 6), and graduate Dylan Johnson (Player of the Week, April 20) as recipients.

The College of Charleston baseball team will continue its road schedule with a matchup at Charleston Southern on May 5 at 6 p.m.
