Bipartisan resolution celebrates National Charter Schools Week

U.S. Senators Tim Scott and Michael Bennet have introduced a resolution to mark National Charter Schools Week, highlighting the role of charter schools in the educational landscape. According to the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, these institutions now encompass over 8,000 schools with more than 3.7 million students nationwide.

Senator Scott stated, “During National Charter Schools Week, we celebrate the incredible innovation that charter school families, teachers, and leaders bring to our education system.” He emphasized his commitment to supporting these institutions as they continue to offer expanded learning opportunities.

Senator Bennet remarked on the importance of quality education for all students. “All students deserve a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college and career,” he said. He acknowledged charter schools’ role in improving student achievement across Colorado by providing flexibility and innovative teaching methods.

The resolution was co-sponsored by a bipartisan group of senators including Bill Cassidy, Margaret Hassan, Tommy Tuberville, Cory Booker, Ron Johnson, John Hickenlooper, Jim Risch, Mike Crapo, Rick Scott, Ted Cruz, James Lankford, Bill Hagerty, Marsha Blackburn, Katie Britt, Thomas Tillis, Kevin Cramer, Roger Wicker, Todd Young John Cornyn and Jon Husted.
