Attorney General Alan Wilson has issued a warning to potential protesters ahead of planned demonstrations on June 14, which coincides with Flag Day and former President Donald J. Trump’s birthday. Reports suggest that radical groups are organizing events that may disrupt public spaces and provoke confrontations with law enforcement nationwide.
Wilson emphasized that any acts of violence, vandalism, or attempts to intimidate or obstruct law enforcement will not be tolerated in South Carolina. “Let me be clear: If you attack law enforcement, destroy public or private property, or endanger lives in our state, you will be arrested, charged, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” he stated.
The Attorney General’s office is coordinating with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies to monitor potential threats and support response efforts. Wilson urged citizens to report any information related to possible riots or criminal activities over the weekend to local authorities.
He reaffirmed South Carolina’s commitment to maintaining order: “South Carolina is a law-and-order state, and it’s going to stay that way.”
