Master Steel, LLC expanding Jasper County operations

Master Steel, LLC (Master Steel) has announced its expansion in Jasper County with a $10 million investment that will result in the creation of 14 new jobs. The company, specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication, is set to enhance its operations with the addition of new facilities and equipment.

President and CEO of Master Steel, Priscilla Stephens, expressed the company's deep-rooted values and faith, stating, "We named our business Master Steel because we work for our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been good to us through these many years in good times and bad." Stephens attributed the company's success to divine blessings and emphasized their goal of enriching the lives of families in Jasper County and surrounding areas.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster welcomed the expansion, noting that it signifies a commitment to the state's economy and manufacturing sector. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III also commended Master Steel on its success in South Carolina and highlighted the positive impact the project will have on job creation in Jasper County.

Jasper County Council Chairman Marty Sauls expressed pride in the local workforce that contributes to Master Steel's growth, stating, "Every job created by Master Steel represents an opportunity for a brighter future." Additionally, SouthernCarolina Alliance President and CEO Danny Black congratulated Master Steel and Jasper County on the expansion, emphasizing the company's importance within the industrial community.

The expansion project includes the establishment of a new fabrication shop, a 10-ton outside girder crane, and new robotic machinery at the company's facility in Hardeeville. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $50,000 Set-Aside grant to Jasper County to support real property improvements for the expansion.
