(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that a Lancaster County man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for hiding a camera in a bathroom and recording young girls showering. William Brandon Lee Campbell pleaded guilty to two counts of Voyeurism and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, 2nd degree. This announcement came after Campbell admitted to placing a camera in a home in Indian Land in Lancaster County and recording videos of young girls showering.

Judge Brian Gibbons presided over the case and sentenced Campbell to 16 years in prison, with three years for each Voyeurism charge and 10 years for the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, 2nd degree charge, to run consecutively. Campbell will also have to register as a Sex Offender upon his release from prison.

In acknowledging the hard work put into the case, Attorney General Wilson expressed his gratitude, saying, "Attorney General Wilson would like to thank Investigator Paul Lyons with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Detective Andrew Key with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department for all their hard work on this case."

The investigation, which began in December 2020, revealed Campbell's disturbing actions of secretly recording minors in the bathroom. Despite admitting to his attraction to young girls, Campbell denied physically touching them.

Campbell's 16-year sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of such despicable actions and the importance of holding individuals accountable for their crimes.
